Here After—the only film Jolley made with Inger Lise Hansen and Rebecca Trost—is a bizarre, imaginary insight into the afterlife of a building which has been emptied of people and scheduled for demolition. The abandoned furnishings seem released into a spontaneous short-lived gaiety which gradually gives way to a doomed playfulness that is both haunting and melancholic. Despair and dereliction seem always to have inhabited these rooms.
